HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Of course, the New Year is always a great time for reflection... and that's exactly what I've been doing. I can't believe that when the year started, we'd just finished shooting season 1 of "Exes & Ohs" and all the footage was sitting in the editor's computer just waiting to be assembled into episodes. Now, as 2007 has come to a close, our first (and extremely well reviewed!) season has also come to a close... and my fingers are crossed that we'll soon get to bring you a season 2.

I've written so much about my experiences along the way that it would be redundant to do some sort of recap of all that happened in 2007, so I won't. Instead, I will simply say thank you.

Thank you for reading this blog. Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, questions, and words of encouragement. I may not always be able to post - or to respond - as quickly or as often as I'd like, but every time I get an email that someone has left a comment, it makes me smile. In a business where there are often more downs than ups, this kind of support really and truly means a lot.

I had no idea when I started this blog how much it would ultimately mean to me, and how grateful I'd be that I had a record of the struggles and triumphs along the way. I recently had the opportunity to speak to a couple of screenwriting classes at the Academy of Art college, and the experience reminded me how (not so many years ago) I, too, had sat in front of "Hollywood" folks asking questions about how they get to do what they do. Back then, being a working writer/actor felt so very far away. Yet now here I am, doing just that. And it's wonderful for me to get to look back through this blog and remember this part of my journey...

Of course, I don't include everything in here - I've really just focused on those things that relate to the show - but moving forward, I'm sure I'll include other projects as well. We'll see... Hopefully, you'll continue to come along on this journey with me. And hopefully I'll continue to make it interesting for you to peek through my little window into this wacky world of Hollywood.

I'll keep you posted about a possible season 2 of "Exes & Ohs" - and on the other projects I have in the pipeline. So please keep your fingers crossed for me on all of that, and continue to check back here for updates.

In the meantime, just let me say (again): Thank you.

And may 2008 bring you all the happiness your heart can possibly hold.

Hey Michelle:

As a latecomer to the Exes & Ohs blog, I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed the last few months catching up on the birth of this project via your blog. I loved the light-hearted take on our wonderful lives, and hope we'll see more of it in S2.

I enjoy the AE vlog's too, but there is something about the written word that never gets old, so I hope you'll still have time to update us here too (now that you're famous and all that!).

All the best in your endeavors this year - I'm sure we'll all be eager to hear about progress on Exes & Ohs as well as your other projects.

May love, happiness & success be yours...

(and please bring back Chelah if you can!) xoxox

Thanks for sharing so much with us, MP.
I hope 2008 is as good (if not better) to you than 2007 was; i.e., continued fame, success, good fortune in all that you endeavor.
Please keep posting, okay?
nico, thanks for all those big gay hugs!

Hi Michelle,

So is Season 1 really over??? I loved it so much!!! I was hoping a new episode would appear recorded on my DVR again soon. I'm rooting for whatever creative endeavor you pursue next. You are a very funny and creative lady and I enjoy Exes & Oh's, the blog, and your pieces on After Ellen. I hope everything continues to flourish in 2008.

Cheers

Hi Michelle. I discovered your show while on an Olivia Vacation in Puerta Vallarta. Unfortunately this occurred while being deathly ill and stuck in my hotel room while my wife frolicked by the pool with 600 women, but I loved it nonetheless, (your show, not the deathly ill part.) When I returned home I promptly set my TiVo, and turned my wife on (to the show.)

It's entertaining, witty, and well written and we both look forward to another season. I'm not certain if I have seen all of the episodes, so I will be visiting iTunes to download just as soon as I figure out how to do so!

After that, I will be waiting patiently for the new ones.

Cheers to you and Happy New Year!

heya. haven't seen the show yet. i'm super outta touch with queer culture sometimes, apologies.

but i found one of your vlogs and am interested in the show now.

my query - is your show union, eg IATSE, WGA, DGA, SAG, etc? and if so, how has the WGA strike affected you, and what are your thoughts on it?

thanks...(and i'll take the response off the air. hehe.)

Thanks for the heads up,rituximab about "Exes & Ohs" rumored to be coming out on DVD. When I saw your post, I initally thought of A&E television, which didn't make any sense at all to me. Silly me, as I hadn't thought of AfterEllen.
For those of you wanting to see for yourself, go check out AfterEllen and "Best. Lesbian. Week. Ever. (January 18, 2007)."
Woo Hoo. If/when the DVD happens, perhaps a season 2 wouldn't be out of the question.

I have only recently discovered your wit, humor, and down to earth charm. As a teenager insecure about what the world may think if I were to come out of the closet, I found Jennifer Baker to be the first lesbian I could listen to for advice and with whom could identify. Thank you, thank you. You don't know how much I appreciate your brilliance.

Hey Michelle:

So, yet another day I drag myself in from a hard day at work (OK, not that hard; I love my job), grab a PB&J and fire up the computer...no new blog entry...sigh...I hope your extended absence (where are you?) is a good sign that you are busy writing away on new and exciting projects (like S2?)!

We miss you!

in this time and age we do not have enough role models in the world. People we can look up to and say wow - people who impress us - who drive us forward - who ignite a passion in us...
Im certain that many agree that Michelle has been able to be someone we can look up to, a success story, something to be proud of...
Cheers to you, Cheers to your success and looking forward to keep up with all you do.
